Batdorf Technique Intensive Retreat June 2026

Monday June 15 at 10am - Friday June 19 at 6pm

TBT/Physical Emotional Connection for Performers

Come for a full week of retreat in the country while training in The Batdorf Technique. This week will deepen specific principles of interoceptive awareness - deep involuntary physical sensations connected to your emotional brain useful to accessing emotions for performers. This retreat is designed for performers/actors/dancers with some performing experience who want more reliable access to emotional recall.

  • Cost: $800 + HST (BY May 1 - early bird deadline)
  • Cost: AFTER May 1 $900 + HST
  • Plus accommodation (see below)

250$ non-refundable deposit required to register.

Accommodation: (hst included)

  • $25/night shared accommodation (IMPO: not gender divided!!)
  • $50/night private room (only 2 available)
  • $10/night camping

Day 2/3

Cover more basic principles and learn warm up TBT style

Begin 'juggling' basics

DAY 4
Thursday June 18
9:30-2:00pm
FREE morning- grocery shop/go for a swim nearby/hang out

Warm up TBT style followed by group improvisations

7:30-9pm
Learn basic SCORING- TBT integrated with text and choreography (bring something memorized, text or movement, for this session)
DAY 5
Friday June 19
9:30-11:15am
TBT warm up + integration into text and movement
11:30-1:00pm
TBT exploration- 'journey'
Lunch*
2:00-6:00pm
coaching integrating interoceptive awareness with text or movement

The Honeywood Schoolhouse Artist Retreat currently has one dorm room and two private rooms. Camping is available.

Participants have use of a full kitchen and two bathrooms (2 showers, 3 toilets).

PLEASE NOTE the current dorm with shared accommodation is mixed gender with 7 beds in one room!

* Participant is responsible for all meals, must bring food for the week and bring their own linens. There is a grocery store a 15 minute drive away. More info is sent once people register.
